Fundraising Volunteer Opportunities

"There is something magnificent, a contagion of enthusiasm, in the sight of a great volunteer army..." ~Mary R. Rinehart

If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Liz O'Connell in the Advancement Office, 781-444-4459, ext. 114; eoconnell@saintjoes.com. Thank you!

Wrapping paper (September): At the start of the school year a team distributes sales packets to children in both schools, compiles orders and coordinates pick-up. The proceeds benefit both schools.

Apple Picking Family Day (October): Volunteers help organize and staff this family-friendly event at The Little Rascals Orchard in Harvard, MA. The St. Joe's school and parish community, extended families and friends are all welcome. Your only cost is to pay for the apples you pick. Little Rascals gives us all their profits + 100% matching funds to benefit our schools!

Christmas Bazaar (November):
Many volunteers help to make the Bazaar, an annual tradition for over 50 years, fun and festive for all ages! We need help with booths in Santa’s Village, the Children’s Festival, Santa's Workshop, Maud’s Kitchen and the Family Dinner. Working at this event really puts you in the Christmas mood!

The Polar Express (December): The St. Joe's community presents the Polar Express - a magical ride on the commuter rail that will make this Christmas one to remember for a lifetime!

S.T.E.P. Annual School Fund (January):
The annual Student Teacher Enrichment Program benefits both schools. Parent volunteers from each class serve as Class Captains to promote the fundraising effort and answer questions from fellow parents. Click here for more information...

Cookie Dough Sale (March):
The middle school students' annual cookie sale is quick, simple and very successful! Parent volunteers help organize the event, distribute sales packets, complile orders and coordinate pick-up.

Auction (April/biennial):
A small army of volunteers helps to make the Auction a social and financial success! Help with tasks such as stuffing invitations, soliciting items to bid, setting up at the hotel, staffing the event, and cleaning up, and more. The time commitment is up to you.

Golf Tournament (May):
Volunteers, sponsors and players wanted! Volunteers help obtain sponsors and silent auction items, assist with early-morning sales of mulligans, and set up and serve a buffet lunch.

School Supplies (May):
Help coordinate our back-to-school supplies program for the elementary school.

Book Fair (May): All proceeds from the Book Fair benefit the library. The school children in both the elementary and middle school love the annual Book Fair, where they can shop for new and used books on their summer reading lists! During the three-day fair, parent volunteers assist students in book selection and staff the used book/AV table. They also help with set-up and clean up. The Chair works with the librarians to prepare for and promote the Book Fair and to organize the volunteer schedule.

Box Tops (Year-long):
A team collects, trims, bundles and mails “Box Tops for Education” in October and February, as well as conducts promotions and publicity campaigns throughout the year to encourage involvement in the program. Click here for more information...
