Monsignor James J. Haddad Middle School » Parents » Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers Needed & Wanted!

Please join us in becoming an active volunteer for our school! We do not have a mandatory volunteer program, however, parents are strongly encouraged to volunteer to provide enriching opportunities for our children and to help out where needed.

Click below or on the menu options to your left to review volunteer opportunities and fill out our online volunteer forms for:

CORI Checks(Yearly)

All schools in Massachusetts require paid staff and volunteers (parent, guardian or nanny) to have a Criminal Offender Record Information “CORI” background check conducted. Saint Joseph Schools are required to submit CORI forms each year to the Archdiocese.

Any information obtained through a background check is shared with the principals of the schools only. Other staff members and parent volunteers are not allowed to have access to this information. The Middle School office maintains a list of individuals who have been “CORI’d” and, therefore, may volunteer in our schools.

CORI forms are available for you to fill out in each school office – drop in anytime. Forms will also be available at various school functions. Please don’t mail in a CORI form to the school - you have to submit your form in person and have your picture identification (license) checked.

CAP Sessions(One Time Only)

School personnel and parent volunteers are required to attend a CAP (Child Abuse Prevention) Training Session JUST ONCE. These informative sessions, which include videos and group discussion, are approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

CAP sessions are scheduled at St. Joe’s in the Fall & Spring. You may register for a CAP Training session online by submitting the registration form, please click here!

If you attend a session at St. Joseph’s, the “Sign-in Sheet” is sent to the schools for record-keeping – be sure to sign in! Keep a copy of your “Certificate of Attendance” for your records.

If you attend a CAP session at St. Bart’s in Needham or any other place, send a copy of your Certificate of Attendance with a note to: Elaine Parks, Saint Joseph Parish, 1382 Highland Ave, Needham, MA 02492.

CODE OF CONDUCT (One Time Only)

The Archdiocese requires that all Parish staff, Parish volunteers, school staff, school volunteers, religious education teachers, and religious education volunteers sign a “Code of Conduct” stating they will uphold Christian values and conduct in all pastoral situations.
