St. Joseph Elementary School has officially broken ground on a $3 million renovation project, funded by its "Building for Tomorrow" Capital Campaign. Thanks to the generosity of school families, alumni, parishioners, and other donors, the two-phase project will renovate the lower level of the school, including the cafeteria, library, music/drama space and STREAM (science • technology • religion • engineering • arts • math) classroom, as well as build a playground for Grade 1-5 students.
We are a Catholic elementary school in Needham, Massachusetts for students pre-kindergarten through grade 5.
The first weekend in May is always a special time at Saint Joe's—and this May was no different!
Our second grade students have been dilligently preparing this school year for their First Holy Communions. The skies may have been cloudy, but the children were radiant!
We are so thankful to our teachers, Miss Flanagan, Miss Larson and Miss Williams who prepared the students so well.
Saint Joseph Church is celebrating the important milestone of 100 years as a parish this year. As part of the celebration, a joyous Mass, officiated by Cardinal Sean O'Malley along with six other priests, a deacon and a seminarian was said on April 30th. Students from the elementary and middle school participated in the beautiful service. There are many other events scheduled throughout this Centennial year. The 2016-17 Student Council proposed creating a school mascot. They brought the idea to the students and received overwhelming support and enthusiasm. A vote was tallied and the winning mascot was: a joey (a baby kangaroo.) We are excited to introduce him to you!
What I love about Saint Joe's is that since the beginning, it felt like my grade and the teachers are like a second family to me.
We are very excited about the launch of our new STREAM (science • technology • religion • engineering • arts • math) program! It is complete with a STREAMworks Lab.
