Health Office Information

Please keep your child home from school if he/she has:
  • Symptoms of COVID-19 (See Daily Assessment Sheet) CLICK HERE
  • A communicable disease
  • Fever greater than 100 degrees F within the last 24 hours
  • Vomiting/diarrhea within the last 24 hours
  • An upper respiratory illness with significant coughing and/or nasal discharge
  • Strep throat infection, then please allow a 24 hour period after administration of the first antibiotic dose
Parents/Guardians are also encouraged to contact the health office for any questions, concerns and specifically for the for the following reasons:
  • New medical diagnosis or a change in your child’s health status
  • Newly prescribed medications or a change in a current medication
  • Serious injury, illness, or hospitalization
  • Fracture, sprain, stitches, or cast
  • A contagious disease such as chicken pox, flu, strep throat, whooping cough
  • If your child is absent for an extended period of time
  • If there are recent changes in your family that may affect your child, such as a birth, recent loss, or sudden illness

COVID-19 Saint Joe's School 2021-2022

Illness Protocol:

If your child has had illness symptoms that could possibly be symptoms of COVID-19, you need to check with your child's primary care physician. (CLICK HERE)
 
Your child will need ONE of the following to return to school:
  • Note from your child’s Primary Care Physician
  • Negative Covid-19 test (PCR or Nucleic Acid Molecular only)
The doctor’s note or COVID-19 PCR/NA Molecular test result will need to be place in the health office before your child returns to school. The health office staff will review documents for completeness and notify parents.
 
In addition, your child will need to be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school and 24 hours without fever altering medication.

COVID-19 Protocols 2021-2022
 

POSITIVE COVID-19 INDIVIDUAL

  • Must stay home from school and isolate for 10 days
  • Submit PCR test results to health office
  • May return to school on Day 11 if no symptoms

CLOSE CONTACT

Defined as an individual who is within 6 feet of an COVID-19 positive individual for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period.  Plan of action depends upon vaccination status.
 

Close Contact:  Unvaccinated

Option ONE:  Testing
  • Quarantine for 7 days
  • PCR Test on Day 5
  • Return to school on Day 8 if negative PCR test and no symptoms
Option TWO: Not Testing
  • Quarantine for 10 days and monitor for symptoms
  • Return to school on Day 11, if no symptoms

Close Contact:  Fully Vaccinated

  • Quarantine until negative test results
  • PCR Test on Day 5
  • Return to school if negative PCR test results and no symptoms
  • Self-monitor for symptoms
In the above circumstances, both Positive Covid and close contact determination, remote learning will be provided to the student. Parents should contact the school, and teachers will begin remote learning one full school day after notification.
 

All Student/Staff must be cleared by the Health Office before returning to school.
