Health Office Information

Please keep your child home from school if he/she has:
  • Symptoms of COVID-19
  • A communicable disease
  • Fever greater than 100 degrees F within the last 24 hours
  • Vomiting/diarrhea within the last 24 hours
  • An upper respiratory illness with significant coughing and/or nasal discharge
  • Strep throat infection, then please allow a 24 hour period after administration of the first antibiotic dose
Parents/Guardians are also encouraged to contact the health office for any questions, concerns and specifically for the for the following reasons:
  • New medical diagnosis or a change in your child’s health status
  • Newly prescribed medications or a change in a current medication
  • Serious injury, illness, or hospitalization
  • Fracture, sprain, stitches, or cast
  • A contagious disease such as chicken pox, flu, strep throat, whooping cough
  • If your child is absent for an extended period of time
  • If there are recent changes in your family that may affect your child, such as a birth, recent loss, or sudden illness

COVID-19 ISOLATION AND EXPOSURE GUIDELINES
(Regardless of Vaccination Status)

ASYMPTOMATIC EXPOSURE

  • Quarantine no longer required nor recommended
  • Continue to attend school
  • Recommend testing on day 6, if possible
  • Encourage mask wearing until day 10

 

SYMPTOMATIC EXPOSURE

  • Recommend rapid antigen test (preferred)
  • If negative, return to school if:
    • Symptoms remain mild or improving
    • Fever free 24 hours without use of fever reducing medication
  • Recommend second test in 48 hours
  • Recommend wearing mask until symptoms resolve

 

POSITIVE TEST

  • DAY 0 through DAY 5 - ISOLATE AT HOME 
    • Day 0 is day of positive test or day of first symptom, whichever occurred first
  • DAY 6 - RETURN TO SCHOOL
    • Symptoms improving
    • Fever free 24 hours without use of fever reducing medication
  • Recommend wearing mask Day 6 through Day 10
