A seamless transition to high school honors…

“MHMS was the perfect choice for our family. The caring faculty and academic rigor made for a seamless transition to high school honors classes. The activities, trips and service projects cemented friendships that will last a lifetime.”

-Ellen Rooney, P '13, '16

Thrived in the smaller learning environment…

“Our three children went through MHMS and we wouldn’t trade it for the world. They were all very well prepared for high school academically and socially, had developed close friendships and thrived in the smaller learning environment. The culture of the school provides a very supportive and faith based experience for all students and families. All three have memories of MHMS basketball, dances, game nights, Friday night skiing, Kindergarten buddies, school trips to Philadelphia and Washington DC, the Christmas Bazaar, and lastly special graduation events. In addition, the connection between the Elementary school and Middle school seems to have enhanced their experience and enable them to be good role models for the younger students.”

An environment that is an extension of home....

We love so many of the traditions at the school…

Our children have attended MHMS for the past six years, and we love so many of the traditions at the school particularly, the Live Christmas Nativity and the Living Stations of the Cross. It is a pleasure to see the students approach these topics with a mature but age appropriate enthusiasm - they are well prepared and take their roles seriously as they bring these events to life. Religious studies at MHMS transcend the classroom; often classroom discussions of faith and morality become topics for debate at our own dinner table!

Teaching at MHMS has been a blessing for me…

Teaching at MHMS has been a blessing for me. I have not only met some incredible students and families, but I have also had the opportunity to forge lifelong friendships with other staff members. As teachers, we understand that middle school is a time of transition, and we do our best to care not only about providing a strong academic curriculum, but also a moral education rooted in Catholic tradition. I truly wish I had the opportunity to attend MHMS as a middle school student!

Part of such a generous and loving community...

"During my nine years at St.Joe’s Elementary School and MHMS I made countless friends and unforgettable memories. SJS and MHMS’s wonderful teachers provided me with the tools needed to succeed down the road. I loved my time there and always appreciate having been part of such a generous and loving community”

- Cristina Vega, MHMS graduate

The teachers were some of my greatest mentors…

“My time at MHMS was some of the best years of my life. To me, it was a second family. Each day, my teachers helped me through material that I didn't understand and encouraged me to be the best I could be in every aspect of my life. The teachers were some of my greatest mentors.

Now being a junior at Connecticut College, as well as a medic in the U.S. Army, I still carry a part of MHMS with me everyday. MHMS not only prepared me for my academic challenges, but it is the basis of my faith and taught me to care about others.”

-PFC Jackie Arrondo, MHMS graduate

Fully prepared my son for high school…

The honors math curriculum fully prepared my son for high school. The amount of topics covered and mastered allowed him to place into an upper level honors math class as a freshman.
