Dear Kindergarten Families,
I am elated to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year! Kindergarten is the beginning to a beautiful journey, so hop aboard and let’s have a lovely year together!
My name is Alessia Viscomi (Miss Viscomi) and I have an absolute passion for education. Prior to teaching, I went to Wheaton College to study Psychobiology, and was recruited to play soccer. Being a student-athlete taught me so many wonderful qualities such as teamwork, cooperation, and respect (many of the qualities we learn in school). When I am not wearing my teaching hat, I am in uniform on the soccer field! I continue to play soccer at the Semi-Professional level, and love the excitement the game brings.
After completing my master’s degree at Lesley University, and many years of experience in the education world, I am eager and energetic to begin this school year! I love to smile, laugh, and most of all enjoy the little moments! I believe that parent- teacher relationships are crucial to the success of the student and greatly appreciate all of your support towards ensuring a lovely kindergarten experience for your child.
Dear K2 Families,
The last full week of the 2018/2019 school year is complete! These days together have been an exceptional time. This week was filled with laughter, love, and more. This week, K2 has been reviewing all topics covered in reading, writing, math, religion, social studies, and science. They also learned their final root word: fin-(how fitting!)
Our week kicked off with the Boston Bruins Playoff Spirit Day Parade! K2 met Blades the mascot and took a class picture with him. Hopefully, Bruins can step it up a bit for next game! K2 also cheered on the 8thgrade graduating class as they walked through the Saint Joseph building saying goodbye to old teachers and classrooms. K2 also were very responsible shoppers at the book fair. They chose their books and did a great job thinking about what to spend and what to save!
Monday is Field Day!Here are some helpful reminders:
1) Please make sure to put sunscreen on your child at home.
2) Wear sneakers and field day shirts (I sent those home in their bags today.)
3) Please bring a labeled water bottle. They will get thirsty!
4) I have taken lunch orders from the kids (Hamburger/cheeseburger/hotdog) and will make sure they get the item they requested.
On Tuesday, I will be sending home all of your students work (writing folders, science folders, math workbooks, extra clothes, and anything else I can think of!) We will be attending an assembly at 8:30 a.m. so please make sure to have them arrive at school on time.
Wednesdayis the last day of school for PK/K students. A reminder that the end of year celebration is on Wednesday afternoon. Please bring a brown disposable snack and lunch (NO BACKPACK) because students will be dismissed from the church after the celebration.
Have a great weekend,
P.S. K2 brought home their early Father’s Day gifts!
