It's been a wonderful year with these group of students, and I can't wait to see how they progress in the years to come!

Welcome to Saint Joe's!

Why did Miss Murphy choose Saint Joe's to teach at?

I chose Saint Joe's because of the community. The rapport among students and teachers is unlike any school you will go too. It is a warm and welcoming atmosphere which makes going to work each day a pleasure. The teachers are passionate about their careers, and the small class sizes allow me to give my students the individualized attention they deserve. Above all, our faith embedded curriculum brings us together. Our rich classroom discussions, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary lessons allow our students to flourish to their fullest potential.

Volunteer Spot:

Mystery Reader will be on select Fridays at 2:00 p.m. through a sign up link ( will be posted soon). You can come in and read a seasonal book of your choosing to the class. Following the story we can have a class discussion, small craft, or interactive writing activity. This is a great way to get involved and the kids will love the surprise guests.

Aside from this, please feel free to come in on your child's birthday to read a story! Let me know in advance so we can plan a time.

Thank you!

Our Last Week of School…

To my students: Our last week of school flew by with field day, the rescue dog presentation, and the end of the year party. This year, you have developed a love for reading, a passion for math, and an even bigger imagination for creative writing. You have planted in our garden, discussed national holidays and important people, created projects together, and made everlasting friendships. I am so proud of all the wonderful work you have done! You have all made individual progress academically and have learned how to work together. I want to thank each one of you for all the love, memories, laughter, and learning that we have shared this year. When I teach, I also learn from you! Thank you for always being yourself, and I can’t wait to hear about the wonderful things you will accomplish next year in second grade. Each one of you will always be in my heart, and I will miss you so much!

To the parents: Thank you for your constant support this year. It has been a blessing to teach your children. Teaching is like no other job in the world. Each day your child comes into the classroom smiling, ready to learn, and of course with a story to tell me about their weekend. Their eagerness, curiosity, and innocence bring me the ultimate joy as an educator. It has been my privilege to get to know your family as part of the Saint Joseph School community this past 2018-2019 school year.

I hope everyone has a fun-filled and relaxing summer with friends and family. See you next year!

Love, Miss Murphy
