Dear Saint Joseph School Community,

I have been eagerly waiting to share this important update with you all. We have been busy working to identify quality candidates for the various vacancies on our team and I am confident we have brought on a group of truly excellent educators and professionals.

We are excited to announce that we have hired a new STREAM Teacher. Please join me in welcoming Jane O’Connor to the Saint Joe’s team. Jane comes to us from Saint Catherine of Sienna in Norwood where she has taught for many years both as a classroom teacher and STREAM teacher. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and passion for STREAM. She will provide instruction for the full spectrum of students at Saint Joe’s.

Effective August 8th, the role of Director of Admissions and School Operations has been filled by Anne Noah. Anne’s essential duties will focus on admissions and recruitment of new students while providing leadership and direction to the operation of our school. Anne is a veteran Catholic educator with decades of experience in the classroom and administration. She has previously served as Vice Principal, Admissions Director, and Athletic Director. We are blessed to have someone of her experience level to join our leadership team.

Additionally, we have established a separate role of Marketing and Communications Director. This role will focus on how best to communicate our mission to the greater Needham community while ensuring that clear communication is consistent to all members of our community. I am pleased to share that Tori Banu has accepted this position and will serve in a part-time capacity during the ‘22-23 school year. Tori has a wealth of professional experience in marketing and communications with several impressive brands and organizations in her portfolio. She understands our mission and is passionate about our school. I am confident that she will help us bring our marketing and communications to the next level.

After many years of service, Kathy Brett will be moving to a part-time role, leaving a vacancy in our Head Nurse position. After a thorough search, we are pleased to announce that Nancy Sharkey will be joining our team as the new Head Nurse. Nancy has spent the last couple of years working at an Urgent Care Center on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are looking forward to her joining our team and becoming an important member of our community. Thank you to Kathy Brett for being a big part of the hiring process for this important role. In addition, Ashley Pohlman who you may have met last year, will be taking on a more permanent role as part-time School Nurse.

Coming to us from Blessed Sacrament School, Carolyn Love Lombardi will be stepping in as our new 2nd Grade Teacher. Carolyn has been a dedicated Catholic educator for many years serving the Blessed Sacrament community in Walpole and is eager to join our team. Most recently, Carolyn completed her M.Ed. in Literacy through the College of Saint Scholastica and will bring with her a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom.

Thank you for taking time to read through our exciting roster of new hires. It has been a busy summer meeting so many qualified candidates. I am confident that these individuals will serve our community well and help lead our school into a new chapter of development and growth.

Enjoy the “sunset” of summer and I look forward to seeing you back on campus in just a few short weeks!

God Bless,
Ian Snyder | Head of School
