History & Mission
Our History
Saint Joseph School’s roots go back to 1939, when the Sisters of Charity of Halifax began leading religious education for the youth of Saint Joseph Parish in Needham. In 1954, with permission from Cardinal Richard Cushing, the Sisters opened Saint Joseph School with kindergarten and first grade.
More than seventy years after opening its doors, Saint Joseph School continues to form confident learners, compassionate leaders and faithful disciples.
Saint Joseph School, in partnership with our families, provides an exceptional Traditional Roman Catholic education committed to helping each student thrive academically, spiritually, and socially. Rooted in our four pillars of Faith, Virtue, Intellect, and Stewardship, our mission is to provide an educational experience that empowers well-rounded individuals with a deep sense of faith and purpose, and a strong foundation for lifelong success.
